Clubs that hold rapid tournaments 3
About this list
Three of Cairo’s sporting clubs hold rapid tournaments under their own names. The Heliopolis Sporting Club organises the Heliopolis International Rapid Chess Championship, which reached its tenth edition in June 2025, and a joint Heliopolis and Adly international rapid was played at the club in May 2025.
Ghaba Club held a club rapid tournament in early March 2026, a few days before its first club tournament on the FIDE list, and plays in the Premier League A. The 6th of October Club ran a Ramadan rapid championship in March 2025 and a friendly tournament in February 2026; its name recalls 6th of October City, but the FIDE list places its Ramadan event in Cairo. Whether a visitor without membership may enter these events is not stated.
