Rapid tournaments in Cairo and Giza 5

Rapid is the time limit Cairo plays most often outside the league. The Egyptian Chess Federation’s International Egypt Champions series is a rapid event whose editions move between halls, among them the October Club near City Gate 7 in 6th of October and a youth centre in Zamalek; its ninth edition is dated June 2026 and a tenth July 2026.

In Giza, Golden Knight played rapid events from April 2025 to August 2026, and Golden Nine has held Friday rapids of its own since August 2026. Nova X added rapid to its blitz and classical events between May and July 2026. The Haram Sigma series runs rapid tournaments on Fridays: the notice of the edition dated 16 October 2026 gives a start at half past three in the afternoon and an entry fee of 200 pounds, with a lower fee for some categories.
